Why not just learn from a buddy?

It looks so easy. Here's the honest math on why structured training matters more than it seems.

We get it. The money spent on a proper course, and possibly travel, could go toward gear instead. But it's also highly likely that money ends up going toward hospital bills and lost income while you're stuck at home healing from a broken bone — or worse.

THE NUMBERS — over half of the pilots trained by a buddy or by themselves ended up with life-pausing injuries in the early stages of their flying career. Even the ones who made it through unscathed usually admit they wish they'd gotten proper training.

We've spent years refining our training program across hundreds of students, and it keeps improving. Our focus: patient instructors adaptable to different learning speeds; multiple training hills and launches for a safe progression; and a large inventory of student wings, ranging from 8 to 14m, so nobody learns on gear that doesn't fit them.

None of this is about scaring you off the sport. It's the opposite — it's what lets us get beginners to intermediate-level skill within a week, safely, instead of gambling on a friend's advice and a borrowed wing.
